Thousands of Epstein Documents Released with New Images
The US Department of Justice has made public a vast new tranche of documents and photographs related to the late financier and convicted sex offender, Jeffrey Epstein. The release, comprising thousands of pages, occurred shortly after 9pm UK time on Friday, 19 December 2025.
This disclosure came just hours before a legal deadline mandated by the recently passed Epstein Files Transparency Act. Among the materials are previously unseen photographs featuring a host of famous individuals from Epstein's social circle.
Celebrities and Politicians Pictured in Files
The files include images of several high-profile figures, though their presence does not imply any wrongdoing. A photograph shows the late pop icon Michael Jackson with Epstein. Another image depicts former US President Bill Clinton in a swimming pool with Ghislaine Maxwell and an unidentified woman whose face is obscured.
Further pictures show Mr Clinton in a hot tub and a separate, peculiar painting of the former president wearing a blue dress and red high heels. In his 2024 memoir, Clinton expressed regret over his association, writing: "travelling on Epstein's plane was not worth the years of questioning afterward. I wish I had never met him."
Other celebrities identified in the files include Rolling Stones frontman Sir Mick Jagger, Motown legend Diana Ross, and comedian Chris Tucker. All are pictured in social contexts, with no suggestion of illegality.
Royal Links and Heavily Redacted Material
The documents also feature Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, the former Duke of York, and his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson. One newly released photo shows the former prince lying across five women with redacted faces, while Ghislaine Maxwell smiles behind them.
Andrew has long faced allegations, which he denies, of sexual assault linked to Epstein. He settled a civil case with accuser Virginia Giuffre in 2022. Ms Ferguson faced criticism after a friendly note she wrote to Epstein emerged; her spokesperson stated it was written because he had threatened to sue her.
Significant portions of the release are censored. A "masseuse list" with 254 entries is completely blacked out, as are all 119 pages of one grand jury document. Many portraits of women, some described as "nude", are also redacted to protect victims' identities. US Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche confirmed over 1,200 victims and their families were identified during the review.
The files also contain flight logs, contact books, and handwritten notes, including one from Epstein that reads, "For a good time call [REDACTED]". A personal scrapbook features pictures of Epstein and redacted women, with a caption asking, "Is my cover blown?"
In UK politics, Lord Mandelson is pictured with Epstein blowing out birthday candles. The former ambassador to the US was dismissed from that role in September 2025 over his links to the disgraced financier.
The ongoing release of these documents continues to shed light on the extensive network of the convicted paedophile, prompting further scrutiny of his powerful associates while underscoring the scale of his crimes.
