An 18-year-old woman has died after she was seriously injured in an incident where a group of people took unauthorised control of a loading vehicle in Essex. Essex Police confirmed that the woman, who has not been named, was taken to hospital following the incident in Southend on June 13 and has since died.

Incident Details

Police attended the Chalkwell Park area at approximately 12:30 AM after receiving reports that a group of individuals had taken unauthorised control of a small articulated loading vehicle. The woman was found seriously injured and was rushed to hospital, but succumbed to her injuries.

Officers are supporting the woman's family, and inquiries are ongoing, the force added.

Arrests and Investigation

An 18-year-old man from Westcliff and a 17-year-old boy from Leigh-on-Sea have been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving. They have been released on bail until September.

Police stated there were a large number of young people in the area at the time of the incident and urged anyone with information to come forward.
