An 80-year-old man has been arrested by police following a distressing incident in which a 95-year-old woman was tied up and threatened during an attempted robbery at her home. The arrest took place in Worsley, Greater Manchester, on Thursday, as confirmed by Greater Manchester Police (GMP).

The elderly victim was targeted at her property in Little Hulton, Salford, where it is believed the suspect gained entry by asking about bin collection day. Once inside, he tied the woman's hands together and demanded cash and her purse.
