Police confirm suspect has left the country

Bedfordshire Police stated that the suspect is a man known to all three victims. Assistant Chief Constable John Murphy described the incident as deeply distressing, adding that the force is committing all necessary resources to the investigation. He said: 'This is a deeply distressing incident in which a mother and her two children are believed to have been murdered. Our thoughts are first and foremost with all those affected. We recognise that this will cause concern in the local community and beyond.'

No wider risk to the public

Police have assured the public that there is no wider risk, as the suspect is known to the victims. Increased police patrols will be visible in the area to support the investigation and reassure residents. Officers are appealing for anyone with information, especially regarding suspicious activity on Friday and Saturday, to come forward. 'Any information, no matter how small, could help our investigation,' Murphy added.
