Metropolitan Police have officially named the elderly woman who was fatally stabbed earlier this week in Plumstead, South East London. The victim has been identified as Doris Innes, an 84-year-old resident of Red Lion Place.

Officers were called to the scene at 8:50 AM on Wednesday, April 1, following reports of a man armed with a knife. Police attended alongside the London Ambulance Service and discovered Ms. Innes with severe injuries. She was rushed to hospital but sadly succumbed to her wounds. Specialist officers continue to provide support to her grieving family during this difficult time.

In a related development, two other individuals were threatened with a knife near the location of the attack. Fortunately, neither of them sustained physical injuries during the frightening encounter.

Arrest and Charges Filed

A 62-year-old man, identified as Giorgio Pin of Brookhill Road in Woolwich, was arrested shortly after 9:10 AM on Wednesday in connection with the violent incident. Pin, born on January 29, 1964, has since been formally charged with murder and two counts of attempted murder.

The suspect has been remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear at Bromley Magistrates’ Court on Saturday, April 4, to face these serious allegations.
