Guardian Issues Corrections on Wildlife Report and Stella McCartney Brand
Guardian corrects environmental report and fashion brand details

The Guardian newspaper has published a series of corrections and clarifications, addressing factual inaccuracies in recent reporting on environmental policy and the fashion industry.

Clarifications on Environmental and Fashion Reporting

In a statement, the publication corrected a report concerning wildlife conservation targets. It had previously stated that a damning review by the Office for Environmental Protection (OEP) covered both England and Northern Ireland. The newspaper has now clarified that the OEP's assessment, which warned that wildlife targets 'will not be met', related to England only and did not include Northern Ireland. This article was published on 13 January.

A separate clarification concerns the sustainable fashion brand Stella McCartney. An article from 18 December, covering a sales decline, inaccurately claimed the label uses no animal products. The Guardian has amended this, noting that while the brand famously eschews leather, fur, and feathers, it does incorporate wool and silk into its collections.

Other Recently Amended Articles

The corrections column also listed a number of other articles that have been recently updated. These include reports on screen time affecting toddlers' vocabulary, Golden Globes snubs and surprises, and a profile of Georgia's youngest state legislator. Further amended pieces covered fashion on the Golden Globes red carpet, Greenland's security stance within NATO, and an interview with tennis star Stan Wawrinka.

The list also referenced corrected articles on GP services, events following an ICE shooting in Minneapolis, and a tragic incident during a protest in Jerusalem.
