Burglars Steal Family's Beloved 'Baby' Dog in North London Raid
Heartbroken owner pleads for return of stolen dog

A young teacher has been left utterly devastated after callous burglars not only ransacked her family home but also stole her beloved pet dog, whom she describes as her 'baby'.

A Home Violated and a Family Torn Apart

Eliz Yusuf, 26, returned to her home on Meadowcroft Close in North London to discover a scene of devastation on December 16. Thieves had broken in and stolen diamonds, coins, and medals. But the most precious thing taken was her nine-year-old dog, Simba, a Yorkshire Terrier and Poodle cross, commonly known as a Cockapoo.

"Honestly, I'd say that our lives have been turned upside down," said Eliz, who works as an English teacher. "This has been truly devastating for all of us." Simba was a deeply sentimental gift, presented to her by her father for her 16th birthday a decade ago. "He means the world to me," she added.

A Desperate Plea and a Reward Offered

Speaking directly to the criminals responsible, Eliz made an emotional appeal. "I will pay you, please just return Simba safely," she stated, confirming she is willing to offer a reward for the safe return of her pet. The family's anguish is shared by close friends. Family friend Elle Mac said: "It's a horrible thing for anyone to do. It's like stealing a baby."

Despite her public plea and the passage of nearly three weeks, there has been no positive news on Simba's whereabouts. The Metropolitan Police confirmed they are investigating the burglary, which was reported at 19:40 hours on December 18 at an address on Meadowcroft Road, N13.

Ongoing Police Investigation

A Met Police spokesperson said: "Suspects entered the address and stole money, jewellery and the victim's dog. Enquiries remain ongoing to locate the dog, which is a Cockapoo and Yorkshire Terrier cross. No arrests have been made at this stage." The community and authorities continue their search for the stolen Cockapoo as the family holds onto hope.
