Lambeth Man Receives 15-Year Sentence for Heinous Child Sexual Abuse

Kamran Khan, a 44-year-old resident of Streatham High Road in Lambeth, has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for committing ten sexual offences against a young girl under the age of 13. The sentencing took place on Wednesday, April 1, at Inner London Crown Court, following his conviction on Thursday, January 15, for crimes that included rape and assault by touching.

Brave Victim Exposes Abuse Despite Death Threats

The investigation into Khan's actions began on July 6, 2025, after a family member reported allegations of rape and serious sexual assault. The abuse came to light when another family member witnessed a disturbing interaction between Khan and the child. Despite Khan's threats to kill her if she disclosed the abuse, the victim courageously confided in a family member about the horrific experiences she endured.

The sexual abuse occurred in multiple locations, including within the victim's own home, specifically in her bedroom, and on a park bench. Khan forced the young girl to watch pornographic videos on his phone, a fact corroborated by evidence found during the police investigation.

Comprehensive Investigation Uncovers Compelling Evidence

Upon Khan's arrest, authorities seized his phone and conducted a thorough forensic analysis. The examination revealed pornographic material in his search history, aligning with the victim's testimony. Additionally, forensic samples collected from Khan and DNA evidence from the victim confirmed that sexual contact had taken place, providing irrefutable proof of his crimes.

Detective Constable Franky Green, a member of the Metropolitan Police's Child Abuse Investigation Team, praised the victim and her family for their immense bravery. "Khan preyed on a defenseless child and exploited established connections as a smokescreen for his abusive crimes," Green stated. "The immeasurable courage of the victim and their family is tremendously appreciated."

Specialized Support for Victims and Additional Legal Measures

The Met's Child Sexual Exploitation team is dedicated to creating a safe and supportive environment where victims feel empowered to speak freely. Their specialized approach ensures that children and families are heard, protected, and supported throughout the investigative process.

In addition to the 15-year prison sentence, Khan has been placed on the registered sex offenders list. He has also been served with a restraining order and a sexual harm prevention order, which will impose strict conditions on his behavior upon release to prevent future offences.

This case underscores the critical importance of community vigilance and the bravery required to confront such traumatic experiences. The successful prosecution serves as a stark reminder of the severe consequences for those who commit crimes against children.
