The heartbroken family of a 19-year-old woman found dead on a street in Oldbury have paid moving tribute to their beloved relative, describing how their 'hearts will be forever broken'. Lily Whitehouse was discovered with multiple fatal injuries on Park Street.
A Life Cut Short
Lily Whitehouse, aged 19, was found at approximately 9.50pm on Wednesday evening in the Park Street area of Oldbury. Despite the efforts of emergency services, she was tragically pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.
In response to the incident, Mohammed Azim, 41, has been charged with murder and is scheduled to appear before Wolverhampton Crown Court on Monday. Meanwhile, police investigations continue, with officers conducting meticulous fingertip searches of a nearby tree-lined area close to where Lily's body was discovered.
Heartbreaking Tributes to 'Lil Bil'
Loved ones have shared devastating tributes across social media, painting a picture of a vibrant young woman who brought joy to everyone she met. Her cousin, Katie Whitehouse, posted a heartfelt message on Facebook, saying: 'To me, she will always be my "Lil Bil". My baby cousin, my sister, my forever.'
She continued with an emotional pledge: 'She is part of me and always will be. I will love you forever, Lily. Your story isn't over … we will fight for the justice you deserve. Our hearts will forever be broken.'
Another relative, Leon Whitehouse, expressed his devastation, posting: 'God bless you. Love you RlP angel.'
A Community Demands Justice
Lily's childhood best friend, Millie, shared an emotional video of them playing together on a trampoline as young girls. In her post, she asked the poignant question: 'How cruel can this world be?'
She remembered Lily as someone who 'lit up every single room you stepped in and there was never a dull moment with you around', adding: 'You were the sister I never had. I've never felt pain like that.'
Friend James also posted on Facebook, describing Lily as 'a very much loved and friendly person who cared for everyone' and 'such a bright young lady'.
In a show of community support and a demand for justice, friends have organised a balloon release party for Lily's family scheduled for next weekend.
