Controversial Bronze Statue Depicts Trump and Epstein in Titanic Pose
A provocative new bronze statue has been erected in Washington DC, recreating the iconic romantic embrace from the 1997 film Titanic with a highly controversial twist. The artwork depicts former US President Donald Trump and the late financier Jeffrey Epstein, who was convicted of sex trafficking, locked in the famous 'Titanic Pose' on the bow of a ship.
'King of the World' Installation Sparks Immediate Controversy
Titled 'King of the World', the statue shows Trump holding Epstein as both figures spread their arms outward, directly mirroring the cinematic moment shared by characters Jack and Rose. The installation was placed near the US Capitol by an activist collective calling themselves the Secret Handshake.
A plaque beneath the controversial artwork reads: 'The tragic love story between Jack and Rose was built on luxurious travel, raucous parties and secret nude sketches. This monument honours the bond between Donald Trump and Jeffrey Epstein.'
Previous Provocations by Secret Handshake Collective
This is not the first provocative installation by the Secret Handshake group targeting the Trump-Epstein connection. In January, they erected a ten-foot-tall replica of what they claim is Trump's 'birthday message' to Epstein.
The massive replica displays a letter featuring Trump's signature alongside text arranged within the outline of a naked woman's body. The controversial message reads: 'We have certain things in common, Jeffrey... a pal is a wonderful thing. Happy Birthday – and may every day be another wonderful secret.'
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt has vehemently denied the authenticity of both the message and signature, stating: 'As I have said all along, it's very clear President Trump did not draw this picture, and he did not sign it.'
Ongoing Scrutiny of Trump-Epstein Relationship
The statue's installation comes amid intensifying scrutiny of Trump's relationship with Epstein as the Department of Justice continues releasing documents related to Epstein's criminal network. While Trump has consistently denied any knowledge of Epstein's crimes or any personal wrongdoing regarding their friendship, the political pressure continues to mount.
According to Democratic Representative Jamie Raskin, who has reviewed unredacted versions of the Epstein files at Department of Justice headquarters, Trump's name appears 'more than a million' times throughout the documents. Raskin told Axios: 'Trump's name... it appears more than a million times. So it's all over the place.'
This represents a dramatic increase from the approximately 5,300 mentions found in initial redacted document releases. However, officials emphasize that frequent mention does not necessarily indicate criminal activity or culpability.
Broader Political Context and Reactions
The timing of the statue's installation has sparked additional political commentary, with some observers suggesting that recent international conflicts may be serving as 'Operation Epstein Distraction' – an attempt to divert public attention from the ongoing document releases.
The Secret Handshake collective appears determined to keep the Trump-Epstein connection in public discourse through artistic provocations, with the Titanic-inspired bronze statue representing their most visually striking intervention to date. The installation has already generated significant controversy and debate about the appropriate boundaries of political art and activism.
