Woman attacked and robbed in Lewisham park

A young woman has been taken to hospital after being assaulted and robbed during an early morning attack in a south London park.

Early Morning Assault in Ravensbourne Park

Police were called to Ravensbourne Park in Lewisham at approximately 6.07am on Saturday, December 20, following reports of an assault. Officers from the Metropolitan Police attended the scene alongside paramedics from the London Ambulance Service.

They discovered a 27-year-old woman who had sustained an injury to her head. The emergency services provided immediate treatment at the location before the victim was transported to a nearby hospital for further assessment. Her condition is being monitored.

Phone and Cash Stolen in Robbery

According to police, the assault was followed by a robbery. It is understood that the attacker stole the woman's mobile phone and an amount of cash before fleeing the area.

The incident occurred in the park just after 6am, a time when daylight would have been limited on the winter morning. The motive appears to have been theft, with the violent attack enabling the robbery.

Police Investigation and Appeal for Witnesses

As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with the attack. The Metropolitan Police have confirmed that their enquiries are ongoing as they work to identify and locate the suspect.

Detectives are urging anyone with information to come forward. A spokesperson for the Met said: “Anyone with information in relation to this incident is asked to contact police on 101, quoting the reference CAD1564/20DEC25.”

This violent robbery has raised concerns about safety in local green spaces, particularly during the early hours. The police investigation continues as they follow up all available leads.
