Woman sexually assaulted on DLR train; police seek man

British Transport Police (BTP) have released an image of a man they wish to speak to in connection with a sexual assault on a Docklands Light Railway (DLR) train. The incident occurred on Friday, May 29, at approximately 10:30 PM.

What happened

The victim reported that she was approached and sexually harassed while on the platform at Canary Wharf station. The suspect then boarded the same eastbound train, sat next to her, and grabbed her. He proceeded to sexually assault her as she struggled to escape. The attack only ended when two other passengers intervened, prompting the suspect to leave the train at King George V station. He has not yet been arrested.

Police appeal

BTP detectives are now appealing for the public's help to identify the man pictured. A BTP spokesperson said: "Detectives would like to speak to the man pictured, as they believe he may have information that could help their investigation." The image shows a dark-haired man in his twenties, with a beard and moustache, wearing a white t-shirt and a black crossbody bag.
