William and Kate Celebrate 15 Years with Sweet Photo

Prince William and Kate Middleton have shared a never-before-seen image to mark their 15th wedding anniversary. The Prince and Princess of Wales posted a snapshot from their Easter holiday in Cornwall on the official Kensington Palace social media account, with the caption: ‘Celebrating 15 years of marriage.’

A Glimpse into Their Easter Break

The photo, taken by photographer Matt Porteous in Cornwall, shows the couple relaxing with their three children — Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis — during the Easter break. Their black cocker spaniel Orla sits by William, while their brown spaniel, whose name has not yet been revealed, is also visible in the frame.

A Love Story That Began at University

William and Kate first met as students at the University of St Andrews in Scotland, where they shared a group house with two other students. During their college years, Kate played a pivotal role in persuading William to continue his studies when he considered dropping out in his first year as a history of art student. ‘We just spent more time with each other and had a good giggle,’ William, the heir to the throne, recalled in 2010. He added that he was drawn to Kate’s ‘really naughty sense of humour.’

The pair graduated together in 2005 but briefly split two years later. Tabloids at the time speculated that the breakup was due to royal family members raising their eyebrows at the Middleton family, who were said to have chewed gum and used the word ‘toilet’ in front of Queen Elizabeth. In a 2010 interview with ITV, Kate admitted she wasn’t ‘happy’ about the split but valued the time alone. William responded with a lighthearted ‘Phew.’

A Fairytale Wedding

The couple wed in a grand fairytale ceremony at Westminster Abbey on April 29, 2011. Kate’s wedding dress, designed by Sarah Burton at Alexander McQueen, was secretly delivered to her hotel the night before to keep the design under wraps. The day was filled with pomp and tradition, culminating in a horse-drawn carriage ride to Buckingham Palace, where the couple kissed on the balcony before an estimated global audience of three billion television viewers.

Growing Family

William and Kate welcomed their first child, Prince George, in 2013, followed by Princess Charlotte in 2015 and Prince Louis in 2018. The family now resides at Adelaide Cottage in Windsor, balancing royal duties with raising their children.

As they celebrate 15 years of marriage, the couple continues to be a symbol of modern royalty, blending tradition with a relatable family life.
