Reality television stars Jamie Laing and Sophie Habboo have offered fans a first look inside their spectacularly renovated West London home, a project that has unfolded alongside their journey into parenthood. The couple, who welcomed their first child, a son named Ziggy, in 2025, purchased the townhouse in 2024 for £4.1 million and have since been meticulously overhauling the property to create their dream family space.
A Family Home Blossoms in West London
The personal and professional lives of the Made In Chelsea alumni and hosts of The NewlyWeds podcast have been full of major milestones. After marrying in two ceremonies in 2023, they announced the birth of Ziggy via an adorable Instagram post showing the new parents, Jamie, 37, and Sophie, 31, cradling their newborn. Settling into their new roles, Sophie has shared intimate snaps from within their home, providing a glimpse of their domestic life.
One heartfelt image captured the new mother breastfeeding Ziggy in a bedroom, leaning against a tall brown headboard that complements the room's brown and white chequered floor tiles. In another tender scene, Jamie is pictured on a plush green sofa, his arm wrapped protectively around his son, who is nestled among cushions and blankets. The couple's expansive kitchen has also become a hub of family activity, with Sophie praising Jamie for making her breakfast there daily.
The Renovation Journey: Dreams and Challenges
Acquiring and transforming the property was no simple feat. The couple revealed to The Times in May 2024 that they had been searching for the perfect family home, moving on from a rented apartment in Notting Hill. Jamie humorously noted that his previous Chelsea flat was deemed 'boring' and had an unwanted history, as Sophie 'didn’t like the fact my ex-girlfriends had lived there.'
Sophie expressed a strong desire to find a quieter, greener area, telling MailOnline they were 'desperately looking' for a residential spot away from the 'busy, party area' they were in. Upon securing the townhouse, they enlisted Jojo Barr of House Nine and Courtfield Construction to bring their vision to life, which includes a state-of-the-art kitchen and a fully landscaped garden with roses, elderflower, and lavender.
However, the renovation process came with its fair share of unexpected hurdles. Jamie joked about the relentless issues, listing 'rotting windows, a leak in the roof, removing a shed, and mice chewing through the electrics,' not to mention contractors requesting more money. Despite the challenges, they have ambitious plans, including converting the basement into a media room. Sophie revealed she had to persuade Jamie, who wanted a golf simulator, that a home cinema was a better idea—a dream for the film-obsessed Jamie.
From Friendship to a Forever Home
The couple's relationship, which blossomed from a deep friendship after meeting on the E4 reality show, has now solidified into building a family legacy. They got engaged in 2021 and had an initial low-key ceremony at Chelsea Registry Office in April 2023, followed by a lavish celebration in Spain a month later.
Their home now stands as a testament to their shared tastes and future aspirations. At Christmas, their cosy kitchen, adorned with warm lighting, candles, and art prints, played host to a huge tree decorated with red bows and lights for Ziggy's first festive season. As they continue to document their lives on their vlog, The Laings, Jamie and Sophie Habboo have successfully transformed a house into a personalised home, ready for their next chapter as a family of three.
