Jamie Laing and Sophie Habboo's £4.1 Million London Home Transformation
Made In Chelsea stars Jamie Laing and Sophie Habboo have embarked on an extraordinary journey over the past year, welcoming their first child and undertaking a massive renovation of their West London townhouse. The couple, who began dating in 2019, announced their engagement in 2021 and married in London in 2023, followed by a second wedding in Marbella. In June 2025, they revealed they were expecting their first child, with son Ziggy arriving in December 2025.
A Glimpse Into Their Renovated Home
Three months after Ziggy's birth, the couple shared adorable Instagram posts showcasing their newborn and their newly renovated home. Sophie posted several snaps, including one of her breastfeeding Ziggy in bed against a tall brown headboard that complements the brown and white chequered floor tiles. Another photo shows Jamie sitting on a plush green sofa, surrounded by cushions and blankets, with his arm protectively around his son.
Sophie praised Jamie in an Instagram Story for "making her breakfast every morning" in their expansive kitchen. The kitchen features a muted colour scheme with candles, warm lighting, and several prints on the walls. For Christmas, the space hosted a huge tree decorated with large red bows and twinkling lights, marking Ziggy's first Christmas.
The Renovation Journey and Challenges
The couple purchased the property in 2024 for £4.1 million after renting a two-bedroom apartment in Notting Hill for three years. Jamie explained to the Times, "We've been renting a two-bedroom apartment in Notting Hill for three years. I previously owned an apartment in Chelsea, but I found Chelsea boring. We also needed to move out because the flat had a history – Sophie didn't like the fact my ex-girlfriends had lived there."
They worked with designer Jojo Barr of House Nine and Courtfield Construction to overhaul the home, creating a perfect kitchen with state-of-the-art appliances. However, the renovation faced numerous challenges. Jamie joked, "Turns out, when you renovate a house, there is always something to do with rotting windows, or there's a leak in the roof, or you've got to remove the shed out of the back or mice chewing through the electrics. Or our contractor needs more money!"
Finding the Perfect Property
Finding the right home wasn't easy. Sophie told MailOnline, "We are desperately looking to move into our family home. We are on the hunt... we are looking high and looking low. We can't find anything right now but we are actively looking, which is really exciting. Jamie and I are looking everywhere, we have no set place... it's a tough market out there."
She added, "I want a bit of greenery, I want it to be a bit more residential, we're in a bit of a busy, party area right now and I want to move to where there's greenery around me and it's quiet and people are walking their dogs around me. You do have to think about the future... I am getting excited about it, but nothing has been found yet."
Future Plans for the Home
Jamie and Sophie revealed plans to transform their basement into a media room, originally considered for a golf simulator but now set to be a cinema. Jamie said, "I grew up obsessed with films, so to have our own cinema, where we can curl up with popcorn — that is the dream." The garden will be fully landscaped with roses, elderflower, and lavender plants.
New Reality Series: Raising Chelsea
Ahead of Ziggy's arrival, the couple allowed cameras into their home for the new reality series Raising Chelsea, released on April 2. The three-part series follows them as they face the "messy, scary and hilarious reality of becoming parents." The show teases, "Pregnancy begins with joy, before panic quickly sets in, as medical jargon, home renovations and family opinions pile up."
The couple documented their renovation process on their vlog, The Laings, sharing glimpses of the building works with fans. Their journey from best friends to married parents, coupled with this significant home transformation, highlights a year of profound change and growth for Jamie Laing and Sophie Habboo.
