The 2026 London Marathon is set for tomorrow, Sunday, April 26, with 50,000 participants running 26.2 miles from Blackheath to The Mall. Around 800,000 spectators are expected to line the streets. The Metropolitan Police have implemented safety measures to maintain public order.
Celebrities Taking Part
A record number of entry applications were received this year, and several famous faces will join the event. Among them are actor Jack O'Connell, former footballers Tony Adams and Aaron Ramsey, and award-winning actress Cynthia Erivo. Previous participants include ex-Chelsea captain John Terry, McFly drummer Harry Judd, and comedian Romesh Ranganathan.

- Cynthia Erivo – The Wicked star completed the 2022 marathon in 3:35:36 and runs for The Kings Trust and Shameless Fund.
- Tony Adams – Former Arsenal captain runs his first London Marathon for The Forward Trust, supporting addiction recovery.
- Sir Alastair Cook – England cricket legend runs again for the Ruth Strauss Foundation, this time with his brother.
- Dame Laura Kenny – Britain's most decorated female Olympian debuts for The Ectopic Pregnancy Trust after her own traumatic experience.
- Aaron Ramsey – Former Arsenal star makes his marathon debut for It's Never You, supporting parents of children with cancer.
- Sebastian Vettel – Four-time Formula One champion runs for the Brain & Spine Foundation and the Grand Prix Trust.
- Sir Ben Ainslie – Olympic gold medallist takes on his first marathon for the 1851 Trust, inspiring youth through sailing and STEM.
- James Norton – Actor runs for Breakthrough T1D after his own type 1 diabetes diagnosis.
- Daddy Pig – The Peppa Pig character runs for the National Deaf Children's Society after George Pig was revealed as moderately deaf.
- Joe Wicks – The Body Coach returns for his third marathon, supporting his foundation.
- Jack O'Connell – Actor known for Skins and '71 runs his first marathon for Alzheimer's Research UK.
- Harry Judd – McFly drummer returns, aiming to beat his 2025 time of 3:15.
- Sir Anthony (AP) McCoy – Twenty-time Champion Jockey runs his first marathon for the Matt Hampson Foundation.
- Ore Oduba – TV presenter runs in honour of his sister Lola for Black Girls Hike and Smartphone Free Childhood.
- Aimee Fuller – Former Winter Olympian returns after her 2019 marathon debut.
- John Robins – Comedian runs again for Stand Together Against Domestic Abuse.
