Carragher: Arsenal Can Seal Title with West Ham Win

Jamie Carragher has asserted that Arsenal can secure the Premier League title with a victory over West Ham next weekend, following Manchester City's dramatic 3-3 draw with Everton on Monday.

Title Race Shifts After City's Draw

The title initiative now rests firmly with Arsenal after City's chaotic encounter at the Hill Dickinson stadium. Pep Guardiola's side initially took the lead through Jeremy Doku's first-half strike, but a series of errors and indiscipline allowed Everton to score three goals in just 13 minutes, putting David Moyes's team in a commanding position. Erling Haaland responded immediately after the restart to reduce the deficit, and Doku's superb stoppage-time strike secured a point for the visitors.

Arsenal now hold a five-point advantage over City, who have played one game more than their north London rivals. The Gunners are in pole position to claim their first league title in over two decades.

Carragher's Confidence

Speaking on Sky Sports, Carragher emphasized the importance of Arsenal's upcoming match against West Ham. "From an Arsenal point of view, tonight is all about the league but I think tomorrow, can you imagine the excitement," he said. "Yes, it's a different competition but the excitement from Arsenal fans, the energy that will be in that stadium. Get to the Champions League final, the league is in your hands with two or three weeks to go."

Carragher added: "But if Arsenal win that game away [at West Ham] next Sunday, they have won the league. The league is won. They beat West Ham it is on." He predicted that Arsenal would easily defeat Burnley at home, making the West Ham fixture the decisive moment.

Henry's Caution

Former Arsenal striker Thierry Henry urged caution despite City's slip. "I said earlier that I can see City dropping points at Everton like I'm worried about the West Ham game [for Arsenal] so I'm going to stay in my lane and not celebrate too early because nothing is done," he said. Henry noted that City's errors brought Everton back into the match, highlighting the unpredictability of the title race.

Guardiola's Reaction

After the match, Guardiola reflected on the performance: "Really good performance. We played outstanding in the first half. Really, really good. Second half, they made a step up and we maybe weren't as aggressive and after, of course, we gave away the goal." He acknowledged the challenge ahead: "We take the point and until it's over, we will continue. It's better than losing. It shows what type of team they are. It's not in our hands. Before it was, now it's not. We have games left. We will see what happens."

Remaining Fixtures

Arsenal's remaining league matches include trips to West Ham and Crystal Palace, plus a home game against Burnley. City face Brentford, Crystal Palace, Bournemouth, and Aston Villa. City return to action next Saturday against Brentford at the Etihad.
