Leicester City manager Marti Cifuentes is set for an emotional return to Loftus Road this weekend, facing his former club Queens Park Rangers for the first time since his summer departure.

The Foxes' boss, who took charge of 83 matches during his tenure in West London, has spoken warmly about his impending comeback. Cifuentes was appointed at QPR in October 2023 and is credited with steering the club away from relegation danger.

"It's one of those games that at the beginning of the season, I look at the calendar because it's always nice to go back to the place where you were happy," Cifuentes revealed. "And I was very happy for two seasons at QPR, so it's going to be special."

Cifuentes was also quick to commend the work of his successor, Julien Stephan, who has maintained the club's competitive edge. The upcoming fixture sees the two managers' sides locked in a close battle in the Championship table.

The manager believes his team is finally finding its rhythm after a tough start to life in the Midlands. "Seven from nine is good, but I would be happier with nine from nine," he said. "When we have managed to get some continuity and the framework has been clear... the team has been taking some steps forward."
