The Driscoll family remains torn apart in the aftermath of Megan Walsh's abuse being exposed on Coronation Street. The clan learned weeks ago that teacher Megan had been sexually abusing teenager Will Driscoll. Police were contacted immediately, but arresting her proved difficult.
Will in Denial
With Will in denial and Megan refusing a DNA test on her baby, Kit Green explained there was no physical evidence. Ben Driscoll, played by Aaron McCusker, feels gutted and blames himself for missing the signs. 'He's absolutely gutted, he's been through a stage of blaming himself, maybe he's been too wrapped up in the move to Weatherfield, stuck in the middle of the war between Maggie and Eva, focusing on his other kids and it just slid by him,' McCusker said.
'He's disappointed in himself and he's going out of his way now to try to make things better but with a teenage son it's not easy and he's going to have to work hard to repair the relationship.'
Melanie's Arrival
Melanie, Will's mother, is now in Weatherfield after learning what her son endured. She causes problems for Ben, making their dynamic even more difficult when she announces that Will should live with her. After Ben drops a bombshell about Megan, his partner Eva Price steps in, explaining to Melanie that no one knew who Megan really was. Eva says Megan's performance fooled them all, and it's important not to blame Ben.
Eva's attempt to reach Melanie doesn't work. In the week, Melanie arrives at the pub and suggests Will move to Scotland with her. Ben is dead against it, but Melanie ramps up pressure on Will, who loses his temper and storms out. Exhausted, Ben eventually suggests to Will that it might do him good to live with Melanie for a while. To Ben's surprise, Will agrees.
Are we about to say goodbye to the character? Only time will tell.
