In Monday's episode of Coronation Street, Abi Webster's worst fears are realized when her son Alfie is rushed to the hospital with severe breathing difficulties. Kevin Webster and Abi rush Alfie to Weatherfield General, desperate for answers about his sudden illness.
Black Mould Discovered Under Alfie's Bed
After witnessing the family's frantic departure, Idris Nazir and Brody Michaelis search the flat and uncover a large patch of black mould hidden under Alfie's bed. Carl Webster later arrives at the hospital with some of Alfie's belongings, explaining that while looking for a teddy bear, he spotted the mould and believes it is the cause of Alfie's worsening cough.
Abi immediately confronts Idris, blaming him for her son's condition. Idris claims he was unaware of the mould, but Kevin makes a violent threat, saying that if Alfie does not recover, he will ensure Idris stops breathing.
Idris Plots Revenge
While Alfie remains hospitalized, Idris's love interest Leanne Battersby and cousin Alya Nazir suggest that the person who sold Idris the flat may have known about the damp issue and failed to disclose it. This revelation leaves Idris reeling, and he enlists Brody's help to teach the previous owner a lesson.
Due to the flat's uninhabitable condition, Abi is forced to pack up and move back in with Kevin. Later, Sally Metcalfe advises Abi to speak with Adam Barlow about taking legal action, as she is determined to hold someone accountable for Alfie's illness.
