Leeds United Injury Update: Farke Confirms Trio Out for Crystal Palace Clash
Leeds United injury news: James, Nmecha, Longstaff out

Leeds United manager Daniel Farke has delivered a significant injury update ahead of his side's crucial Premier League encounter with Crystal Palace at Elland Road this Saturday.

Key Absences Confirmed for Leeds

Farke confirmed that winger Daniel James will be sidelined for approximately eight weeks after picking up an injury. The manager provided a silver lining, stating, "No surgery so thank God. It is a conservative route." However, the Welsh international is not expected to return to team training before that period elapses.

Further depleting Farke's options, striker Lukas Nmecha will also miss the fixture. Despite hopes of a return, the German forward remains "a bit symptomatic," leaving the boss with the same squad as recent games.

Longstaff's Recovery Progress

There was also an update on midfielder Sean Longstaff. Farke revealed that the player is "progressing in his rehab" and is now undertaking individual running and ball work on the pitch. However, he has not yet rejoined full team training and will not be available for selection against Palace. His return will be assessed "from game to game."

Form and Praise for Glasner

Leeds approach the match in resilient form, unbeaten in their last three outings against Chelsea, Liverpool, and Brentford—a run that has lifted them three points clear of the relegation zone.

Farke took time to praise his opposite number, Oliver Glasner, who made 11 changes for Palace's midweek Conference League match. "He's doing a fantastic job," said Farke. "Quality is always defined by performance over a long-term period and this is what Oliver is delivering right now. Incredible job at Crystal Palace."

The stage is set for a pivotal clash at Elland Road as Leeds aim to continue their improved form despite mounting injury concerns.
