Pressure is intensifying on Tottenham Hotspur manager Thomas Frank, with bookmakers now installing him as the favourite to be the next Premier League boss to lose his job. The spotlight has turned to his potential successor, with Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner emerging as the early frontrunner.
Frank Under Fire After Forest Defeat
Spurs' difficult 2025/26 season hit another low on Sunday with a 3-0 defeat away to Nottingham Forest. The loss marks their sixth in just sixteen Premier League matches, leaving the North London club languishing in 11th place in the table. While their Champions League form has been marginally better—they are also 11th but just a point off the top eight after six games—the domestic results have piled scrutiny on the Danish manager.
Frank, who only joined Tottenham from Brentford in June, has now overseen 25 games. The upcoming fixtures offer little respite, with daunting matches against Liverpool and Crystal Palace before the end of December. In the aftermath of the Forest loss, Frank pleaded for patience, stating a turnaround at the club is not a "quick fix."
Bookmakers Tip Glasner for Hot Seat
As speculation grows, the betting markets have moved quickly. Betfair make Frank the 2/1 favourite to become the fifth top-flight managerial casualty this season, following departures at Nottingham Forest (Nuno Espirito Santo and Ange Postecoglou), Wolves (Vitor Pereira), and West Ham (Graham Potter).
Attention has swiftly shifted to who might replace him. According to BetVictor, Crystal Palace's Austrian coach Oliver Glasner is the initial favourite at 5/1. He leads a pack of contenders that includes Bournemouth's Andoni Iraola, Fulham's Marco Silva, and former Celtic and Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers, all priced at 8/1. Rodgers, however, is reportedly close to taking over at Saudi Pro League side Al-Qadsiah.

Calls for Patience Amidst Struggles
Not everyone is convinced a change is needed. Former Tottenham striker and BBC presenter Gary Lineker has publicly advocated for Frank to be given more time. On his podcast The Rest Is Football, Lineker pointed to mitigating circumstances, including Tottenham's 17th-place finish last season and a disappointing summer transfer window.
"I can’t see why he would be under pressure at the moment," Lineker said. "He came in halfway through, and one or two transfers mostly fell through, didn’t they? Morgan Gibbs-White, [Eberechi] Eze, who ended up going to Arsenal. So that was difficult before you start. So cut him some slack, surely."
The coming weeks will be critical for Thomas Frank's future. With the odds shifting against him and a clear candidate identified as his potential replacement, the Tottenham hierarchy faces a major decision that could define their season.
