Premier League Final Day: West Ham Relegation Battle and More
Premier League Final Day: West Ham Relegation Battle

Today marks the final day of the Premier League season, with numerous crucial battles across the table. The most significant position to be decided is the single remaining relegation spot. West Ham will be relegated if they fail to beat Leeds at home. They will also go down if Tottenham beats Everton at home, or if Spurs draw and West Ham wins by fewer than 12 goals. The biggest margin of victory in Premier League history is 9-0, and in the entire Football League, only four victories have been by a margin large enough to save West Ham in this scenario, the most recent occurring 80 years ago.

Top Four and European Spots

Arsenal will finish first, Manchester City second, and Manchester United third, but no other position is determined. Liverpool needs a point to secure a Champions League place. If they beat Brentford at home and fourth-placed Aston Villa loses at Manchester City, Liverpool would move to fourth, Villa drop to fifth, and a sixth Champions League spot would open up due to Villa's Europa League victory.

Bournemouth need a point at Nottingham Forest to guarantee sixth place. If they lose, Brighton could overtake them by beating Manchester United at home. Chelsea must beat Sunderland to ensure European football, while Sunderland need a win to have a chance of qualification. If Sunderland draw, Brentford could leapfrog Chelsea with a win at Anfield, but a draw would still put Chelsea above Brighton if the Seagulls lose by at least two goals. A draw does not help Sunderland, and even if the Premier League gets an extra Champions League spot, they will not also get an extra Europa League place. The battle for positions seventh to tenth is complex.
