Thomas Tuchel is set to make three changes to England's starting lineup for their World Cup last 16 clash against Mexico, according to reports. Jarell Quansah, Bukayo Saka and Anthony Gordon are expected to be recalled, while Djed Spence, Noni Madueke and Marcus Rashford are likely to drop out.
Spence injury concern
Djed Spence, who received mixed reviews for his performance against DR Congo in the round of 32, is set to lose his place at right-back. According to the BBC, the Tottenham defender complained of a muscle problem on Sunday morning, which may have influenced Tuchel's decision ahead of the Azteca showdown. Reece James is still yet to return from a hamstring injury that has ruled him out of England's last two matches, a major blow after Tino Livramento was already ruled out of the tournament.
Expected England starting XI
The expected England lineup is: Jordan Pickford; Jarell Quansah, Ezri Konsa, Marc Guehi, Nico O'Reilly; Declan Rice, Elliot Anderson; Bukayo Saka, Jude Bellingham, Anthony Gordon; Harry Kane. The Chelsea captain has not taken part in full training since his setback and was the sole player absent from England's session on Saturday in Mexico City.
