A man has been charged with a series of serious driving offences following a fatal hit-and-run collision in Birmingham that left one pedestrian dead and another seriously injured.
Charges Laid After Fatal Incident
Harinderpal Athwal, a 41-year-old from Oldbury, is now facing multiple charges in connection with the incident. West Midlands Police confirmed the charges, which include causing death by dangerous driving, failing to stop at the scene of a collision, and causing death by driving while disqualified and uninsured.
He has also been charged with causing serious injury by dangerous driving and failing to report a road traffic collision. Athwal was remanded in custody and was expected to appear before Birmingham Magistrates' Court on Thursday, 18 December 2025.

The tragic event unfolded on Tuesday, shortly before 11.20am, at the junction of Soho Road and Whitehall Road in the Handsworth area of Birmingham. According to police reports, two pedestrians were struck by a vehicle.
