A crash believed to be fatal has shut a major road outside a busy Tube station in Kennington for several hours. Kennington Park Road was sealed off by police at around 11am this morning (April 29), with accident investigation work now underway.
Details of the Incident
The collision took place near a traffic light crossing between Elias Place and Brixton Road, according to photos shared by Vauxhall and Camberwell Green MP Florence Eshalomi. It is unclear how many vehicles are involved. Emergency services remain on scene, and drivers are urged to avoid the area.
Impact on Transport
Transport for London has confirmed that five bus routes are being diverted away from the scene. However, access to Oval station does not appear to be affected. The Metropolitan Police and London Ambulance Service have been contacted for more information.
