A serious early morning collision on a major London road has resulted in two people being taken to hospital, including a Metropolitan Police officer.
Details of the Early Morning Collision
The incident began at approximately 4.45am on Friday, January 2, 2026, on the A406 North Circular Road in Ealing. According to the Metropolitan Police, two vehicles were involved in what has been described as a horror crash.
Photographs from the scene show a white car situated on a box junction, with its roof and doors completely removed, indicating the severity of the impact. Emergency services, including the London Ambulance Service, attended promptly.
A woman, believed to be in her 20s, was transported to an Accident & Emergency department. Authorities have confirmed her injuries are not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing.
Officer Struck While Securing the Scene
In a concerning secondary incident, a Met Police officer was injured while establishing a safety cordon around the initial crash site. A third vehicle collided with the officer, forcing them to also be taken to hospital for treatment.
Fortunately, the officer's injuries are also reported as non-life-threatening or life-changing. The force has not yet provided further comment on the circumstances.
Major Road Closures and Travel Disruption
The crash has caused significant disruption to the morning commute. Police have implemented a full road closure between Warwick Road and North Common Road (Ealing Common). The entire Uxbridge Road crossroads has been taped off.
Transport for London has confirmed diversions are in place for several bus routes, including the 207 and SL8. Drivers are being urged to avoid the area and seek alternative routes, with delays expected to continue for some time.
