A major central London road has been partially closed since the early hours of Tuesday morning following an undisclosed police incident.
Road closure and traffic disruption
Borough High Street has been shut to traffic between Trinity Street and A3201 Great Dover Street, near Borough Station, since approximately 1:30am on Tuesday, 7 January 2026. The nature of the ongoing incident remains unclear, with authorities yet to release details.
The closure is causing significant disruption to local transport networks. According to the traffic monitoring website Inrix, the following six London bus routes have been placed on diversion:
