Woman and Infant Struck by Fleeing Van on A22
A young woman and a baby have been taken to hospital with injuries after a hit-and-run collision near the Croydon border this morning. The incident occurred on the A22 Godstone Road in Whyteleafe at approximately 6:45am on Tuesday, January 6, 2026.
According to Surrey Police, the pair – a woman in her 20s and an infant – were struck by a white van. The driver failed to stop at the scene and fled, leaving the victims injured on the road.

Emergency services treated the casualties at the location before transporting them to hospital for further assessment as a precautionary measure. Officers have now launched an urgent investigation to trace the responsible driver.
