London Underground's Most Dangerous Stations Unveiled in Injury Report
Fresh data has identified the most hazardous stations on the London Underground, revealing that more than 10,000 injuries were recorded across the network over a three-year period. According to information obtained by Personal Injury Solicitors London, Transport for London (TfL) disbursed over £3 million in personal injury claims during the 2024/25 tax year alone, highlighting significant safety concerns.
Injury Statistics and Financial Impact
Records show that 3,275 injuries were reported in the 2022/23 tax year, followed by 3,631 in 2023/24 and 3,567 in 2024/25, totalling 10,473 injuries. The most common incidents were slips, trips, and falls, accounting for 6,847 reports. Another major factor was the 'platform train interface', referring to the gap between the platform and train, which underscores the importance of the Tube's famous 'mind the gap' warning.
In terms of financial payouts, TfL paid £3,209,421 in 2024/25, more than double the combined total of £892,128 in 2023/24 and £473,894 in 2022/23. This surge in claims indicates a growing issue with safety on the network.
