Everyman Cinemas is set to open a new five-screen venue in The Elephant, a £500m development in Elephant & Castle, marking the boutique chain's 17th location in London. The cinema will showcase the latest blockbusters, indie films, classics, and special events including Q&As, live broadcast theatre, opera, and ballet, alongside exclusive member events.
Luxury amenities and community focus
True to Everyman's signature style, the cinema will feature velvet sofas and armchairs, a stylish bar, and food and drinks served directly to seats. Everyman CEO Farah Golant expressed excitement about the new location: 'Opening at The Elephant is a hugely exciting moment for Everyman. Elephant & Castle is a vibrant, creative community, and we can’t wait to welcome locals and visitors to experience the magic of the big screen alongside the warm, first-class hospitality that defines Everyman.'
Part of a larger transformation
The Elephant is part of a £4bn regeneration of Elephant & Castle, which includes 507 new homes—49 for affordable rent and 116 for social rent. Additionally, a new University of the Arts London campus for the London College of Communication (LCC) will open in 2027, housing the Stanley Kubrick archive for public access. The Elephant development is expected to launch in late 2026.
In the meantime, Londoners can enjoy Everyman's free canal-side outdoor cinema season currently running in Granary Square.
