Mickey Rourke has been seen in public looking dishevelled and missing several teeth, months after being evicted from his rental property for over $60,000 (£45,300) in unpaid rent. The 73-year-old actor, known for his role in The Wrestler, stepped out on the streets of Los Angeles wearing a stained grey hoodie, ripped jeans, and sunglasses perched on his fleece, while walking his small white dog and two black dogs.
Eviction and Financial Troubles
Rourke was evicted from his rental home after failing to pay tens of thousands of dollars in rent. He told the Daily Mail that he 'stopped paying rent because the living conditions in the house had become unacceptable.' Court documents from the Los Angeles County Superior Court, filed in March, show that landlord Eric T. Goldie secured a ruling for Rourke to vacate the property after the actor did not respond to the eviction filing within the required timeframe under California law.
Around the same time, Rourke rejected a crowdfunding donation campaign set up by his manager, Kimberley Hines, which aimed to prevent homelessness. He stated that the fundraiser did not reflect his wishes and that he had no prior knowledge of it.
Appearance and Past Surgeries
Rourke's current appearance is a far cry from his heyday in the 1980s. He has undergone multiple transformations over the years, partly due to his boxing career in the 1990s. In a 2009 interview with the Daily Mail, he said: 'Most of it was to mend the mess of my face because of the boxing, but I went to the wrong guy to put my face back together. I had my nose broken twice. I had five operations on my nose and one on a smashed cheekbone.'
His ex-wife, Debra Feuer, told the Mirror that he also had cosmetic surgery. She claimed: 'He'll kill me for saying this, but he wanted the part in one film so badly that he got cheek implants. He told me he was swollen because he'd had his molar teeth removed. But I knew that was untrue – he didn't have any molars to take out.'
Career and Recent Controversy
Rourke first rose to fame in the 1980s with films like Diner and Angel Heart before briefly switching to boxing. He later returned to acting and earned an Oscar nomination for his role in the 2008 film The Wrestler. Last year, he made a controversial appearance on Celebrity Big Brother, where he was forcibly removed after making offensive comments to housemates.
