Sky Launches 'World First' Streaming Bundle with Disney+, Netflix, HBO Max and Hayu
Sky bundles Disney+, Netflix, HBO Max and Hayu in one subscription

Sky Announces Revolutionary Streaming Bundle Combining Major Platforms

Sky has unveiled what it describes as a "world first" entertainment offering that will bring together several major streaming platforms under a single television subscription. The broadcaster's new Ultimate TV package will include access to Disney+, Netflix, HBO Max and Hayu alongside Sky's own original content, creating a comprehensive entertainment hub for viewers.

Comprehensive Streaming Access from £24 Monthly

Starting from March 2026, customers will be able to access this bundled service for £24 per month, with Sky positioning this as the best value streaming package currently available in the market. The service represents a significant shift in how broadcasters are responding to the changing television landscape and increasing competition from streaming platforms.

Sophia Ahmad, Sky's chief consumer officer, emphasised the convenience factor: "In a world-first, we're bringing together Sky, Netflix, Disney+, HBO Max and Hayu into a single Sky TV subscription. Nowhere else offers this breadth of incredible entertainment in a fully integrated experience."

Major Content Highlights Across Platforms

The bundled service offers access to an extensive range of premium content:

  • HBO Max - Launching in the UK and Ireland in March, this platform will feature the highly anticipated Harry Potter series and become the new streaming home for Friends. It will also bring medical drama The Pitt to UK audiences for the first time following its Emmy and Golden Globe success in the US.
  • Hayu - Available from July, this reality TV specialist offers comprehensive back catalogues including The Real Housewives franchise alongside British favourites like Made In Chelsea and The Only Way Is Essex.
  • Disney+ - Includes major film franchises such as Star Wars and Marvel, plus hit series including Rivals.
  • Netflix - Features popular shows like Stranger Things, Black Mirror and the 2025 hit Adolescence starring Stephen Graham and Owen Cooper.

Strategic Response to Changing Viewing Habits

This announcement comes as traditional broadcasters face increasing pressure from streaming services and changing viewer preferences. Sky's approach represents a strategic pivot from competing directly with streamers to becoming a content aggregator that simplifies access to multiple platforms.

Millions of existing Sky customers with Sky Q, Sky Stream or Sky Glass subscriptions will receive "easy access" to the new streaming line-up as standard. New customers will be able to subscribe to Sky Ultimate TV, which includes the basic advertising-supported versions of HBO Max, Disney+ and Netflix alongside Hayu.

Broader Context and Industry Impact

The move comes at a time when the advertising market has increasingly shifted toward online platforms like Google and Meta, creating additional pressure on traditional broadcast revenue streams. By bundling multiple streaming services, Sky aims to retain its relevance in an increasingly fragmented entertainment landscape while offering customers simplified billing and access.

Sky continues to develop its own original programming alongside this streaming initiative, with shows including Brassic and A League Of Their Own, plus the upcoming UK version of Saturday Night Live launching in March. This comprehensive approach positions Sky as both a content creator and a gateway to the wider streaming universe.

The service represents what Sky executives describe as "a new era" for the broadcaster and its streaming service NOW, potentially reshaping how UK audiences access and pay for their favourite entertainment content in an increasingly competitive digital marketplace.
