The Duchess of Sussex's foray into lifestyle programming has encountered significant challenges, with her Netflix series With Love, Meghan reportedly facing cancellation after its second season failed to capture substantial audience interest.
Disappointing Viewership Figures
According to recently released data, the second season of With Love, Meghan ranked a disappointing 1,124th among Netflix's most-watched programmes between July and December 2025. The show managed to attract just 2 million views during this period, placing it below numerous other titles including the second season of Miraculous: Tales Of Ladybug & Cat Noir and even older programmes like Downton Abbey.
Critical Reception and Content
The eight-episode second season, which premiered in August 2025, received largely negative reviews from professional critics. The Guardian awarded the programme just two stars, describing it as "painfully contrived", while The Times called it "baffling" and suggested it occupied "the sweet spot where irrelevant meets intolerable".
Filmed in a rented property in Montecito, California, the show featured the Duchess cooking, chatting and crafting with various celebrity friends including Queer Eye star Tan France and American model Chrissy Teigen. The series included several personal revelations about the Sussex family, including Prince Harry's dislike of lobster, Meghan's nostalgia for Magic FM radio from her time in the UK, and their children Archie and Lilibet's desire for a pet cat.
Broader Netflix Deal Context
With Love, Meghan forms part of the Sussexes' broader creative partnership with Netflix, reportedly valued at $100 million over five years. This agreement began with the successful six-part documentary series Harry & Meghan, whose first episode became Netflix's biggest documentary debut ever.
However, subsequent productions under this deal have struggled to replicate that initial success. Both Heart of Invictus and Polo have faced similar challenges in attracting substantial viewership numbers. The couple have since announced a revised agreement with Netflix described as a "multi-year, first-look deal for film and television projects".
Declining Audience Interest
The viewership decline has been particularly stark when comparing the show's different iterations. The first season of With Love, Meghan attracted 5.3 million views, while the festive special With Love, Meghan: Holiday Celebration managed 2.4 million views but still failed to crack the top 1,000, landing at position 1,022.
Future Prospects and Industry Reports
According to reports from Page Six citing industry insiders, With Love, Meghan will not return for a third series. Sources suggest Meghan herself described the production as "a lot of work", with one insider confirming "It is not returning as a series".
The same reports indicate that while there have been discussions about potential holiday specials, nothing concrete is currently in development. Another source suggested audiences might see similar content appearing on Meghan's social media channels for her As Ever brand, but in "more bite-sized" formats.
The series release coincided with a "seasonal product drop" from Meghan's As Ever brand, which expanded to include marmalade among its offerings, though this commercial tie-in appears to have done little to boost the show's popularity among Netflix subscribers.
