The daughter of acclaimed Hollywood actor Tommy Lee Jones has been found dead in a San Francisco hotel at the age of 34.
Discovery in the Early Hours
Victoria Jones was discovered unresponsive in a corridor of the prestigious Fairmont hotel in the early hours of New Year's Day. According to reports from TMZ, which cited law enforcement sources, the tragic discovery was made shortly before 3am.
A spokesperson for the San Francisco Fire Department confirmed to media that paramedics were called to the scene at 2.52am. "Our units responded, performed an assessment and declared one person deceased," the spokesperson stated, noting that the case was subsequently handed over to the local police department and the medical examiner's office.
The Daily Mail reported that the alarm was raised by a fellow guest who found Victoria Jones in the corridor. The exact cause of her death is currently unknown and remains under investigation.
A Life in the Spotlight
Victoria Jones was the second child of Tommy Lee Jones and his second wife, Kimberlea Cloughley. Her older brother, Austin, is 43. From a young age, Victoria had exposure to the film industry, appearing alongside her father in several projects.
She acted in blockbusters like Men in Black II and the critically acclaimed The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada, and also featured in the popular television series One Tree Hill.
Her father once proudly spoke of her talents to the press, noting she was a member of the Screen Actors Guild and spoke impeccable Spanish. "When she was a baby, I told Leticia, her nurse, to speak to her in Spanish," he recalled during promotion for The Three Burials.
A Father's Candid Memories
Tommy Lee Jones also shared a more humorous, candid story about working with his then-teenage daughter. He told the New Yorker that during filming, she once refused to get out of bed for a 5am call time. "I said: 'Honey, this is work.' But she wouldn't budge. So I fired her," he recounted. Unbeknownst to him, the production team later woke her and rushed her to set just in time.
The pair maintained a close public relationship, frequently appearing together on red carpets. They were last seen together at the Tokyo International Film Festival in October 2018, where Tommy Lee Jones served on the jury.
Tommy Lee Jones, now 79, is an Oscar and Golden Globe winner renowned for his roles in films such as The Fugitive, JFK, Lincoln, and No Country for Old Men.
