International Food Festival Coming to South London in May
International Food Festival in South London This May

An international food festival is set to bring global flavors to South London this spring. Eat Around The World will take place on Camberwell Green on Saturday, May 17, from 11am to 7pm. Following last year's success, which drew 6,000 visitors, this year's event promises an even larger experience with over 80 stalls, four bars, live music, free family activities, and art and crafts workshops.

What to Expect at the Festival

Attendees can explore a culinary journey spanning Asia, Africa, Latin America, the Caribbean, the Middle East, and the Mediterranean. In addition to food stalls, there will be a farmers' market, herbs and plants for sale, and a free community lunch. Families can enjoy a bouncy castle, zorb balls, a penalty shoot-out competition organized by Amuru children's charity, face painting, and arts and crafts. Local charities and community groups will showcase Camberwell's vibrant community, and the Metropolitan Police will offer bike security marking.

Organizer's Perspective

Annette Cauneen from Urban Farmers' Market said: "This festival turns Camberwell Green into a global kitchen. Every stall opens a door to another culture, reflecting the extraordinary food landscape of Camberwell itself. Thanks to funding from Southwark Council, there will be a free community lunch on offer made by Spring Community Hub food charity as well as a free bouncy castle and range of games for children." She added that the event requires no booking—simply turn up and enjoy a celebration of food, culture, and community in the heart of SE5.
