Nicola Adams Hints at Romance with Christine McGuinness
Rumors of a romance between Christine McGuinness and Nicola Adams have been swirling, and the former Olympic boxer has dropped a major hint on social media. Nicola, 43, posted a video on Instagram with the caption: 'Them: "You're not that crazy about that woman"' followed by a clip of herself dancing with her eyes closed, intercut with Evan Peters dancing in the series Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story. She added the hashtag '#wlw' (women loving women), prompting fans to respond with laughing emojis.
The pair attended the DIVA Awards together, where they reportedly never left each other's side throughout the evening, which celebrated LGBTQ+ figures. According to the Daily Mail, they 'looked like they were a couple,' though neither has officially confirmed the romance.
Nicola's Historic Career
Nicola made history in 2012 by winning the first-ever Olympic Women's Boxing Gold Medal, earning herself an OBE. She later made history again on the 2020 series of Strictly Come Dancing as part of the first-ever same-sex pairing, dancing with pro Katya Jones. The duo was forced to withdraw a few weeks into the competition. In a previous interview with The Sun on Sunday, Nicola said she 'still talks to Katya' and believed they could have gone all the way. 'She really got the best out of me, and I liked the fact she had just as much energy as I did, so we were able to really get the dance moves right. It was a good partnership,' Nicola shared.
Past Relationships and Parenting
In the same interview, Nicola discussed her split from Ella Baig, her partner of seven years, which ended in 2025. She admitted that Ella's career as an OnlyFans model 'had an impact on our relationship' and that they amicably decided to end things. 'I don't want a rebound relationship, I just want to focus on my work and being a good mum,' she said at the time. Nicola and Ella now co-parent their son, Taylor Nate, who was born via IVF in July 2022.
Christine McGuinness, star of The Real Housewives of Cheshire, has also been open about her parenting journey. She and ex-husband Paddy McGuinness co-parent their twins Penelope and Leo, 13, and Felicity, 10, and they still live together despite their divorce. Christine has said she doesn't want more children, which has caused issues in past relationships. 'A lot of the women that I meet usually don't have children and they want children, whereas I've had them.
