Police have arrested a 13-year-old boy on suspicion of attempted murder following a violent incident at Kingsbury High School in northwest London. The attack, which occurred on Tuesday, left two boys, aged 12 and 13, in a serious condition in hospital, with one requiring urgent transport to a major trauma centre.

The Metropolitan Police were called to the school in Brent at approximately 12.40pm after reports of a stabbing. Upon arrival, officers discovered that a second boy had also been stabbed. A rapid search for the suspect, described as a teenage boy, was initiated after he fled the scene.
By 6pm, Detective Chief Superintendent Luke Williams confirmed that a 13-year-old boy had been detained on suspicion of attempted murder, and a weapon was recovered. The investigation is being led by counter-terrorism police, although authorities have not declared it a terrorist incident, stating they are keeping an open mind regarding the motivation behind the attack.
Condition of the Victims and Emergency Response
The two victims, whose identities remain unknown, were treated by the London Ambulance Service, which dispatched multiple resources including ambulance crews, incident response officers, and a trauma team from London's Air Ambulance. One patient was taken to hospital, while the other was prioritised for a major trauma centre due to the severity of their injuries.

In response to the incident, Kingsbury High School head teacher Alex Thomas described the events as a deeply traumatic event for the whole school community. The lower school will be closed on Wednesday, although the upper school will remain open for students in years 10 to 13. Police requested that pupils be kept on the playground during the initial investigation, and the school site was temporarily secured to prevent entry or exit.
