Man Jailed for Spraying Semen on Women in Supermarkets

A man who sprayed a bottle of his own semen on women in supermarket aisles has been jailed for four years. William Kidd, 27, admitted 11 counts of sexual assault after CCTV footage showed him pouring the substance on women's hair and backs in stores across Cheshire and Greater Manchester.

Details of the Offences

Kidd carried out the attacks on five separate occasions between May and September last year. He prowled store aisles in Macclesfield, Handforth, Stanley Green, Denton, and Stockport, stalking women before throwing his semen on them. Forensic analysis confirmed the substance was his own. On another occasion, he secretly filmed a woman as she shopped with her five-year-old daughter. Footage from his phone also showed him filming up the skirt of a woman pushing a young child in a supermarket trolley.

Court Proceedings

At Minshull Street Crown Court in Manchester, it was revealed that Kidd told store security guards he was a 'sex addict' and that he targeted women 'to get a sexual thrill.' Many victims were completely unaware of his presence. Kidd pleaded guilty to 11 counts of sexual assault on a female, two counts of voyeurism, eight counts of recording an image under clothing, and possession of cannabis. He had initially pleaded innocence at an earlier hearing.

Sentencing and Aftermath

Kidd was sentenced to four years in jail on Friday and received an indefinite sexual harm prevention order. Detective Constable Tiffany Berry-Perkin said: 'Kidd deliberately targeted innocent women as they went about their everyday lives, entirely unaware of the depraved acts he was committing against them. His behaviour is completely unacceptable, and I welcome the fact that he is now being held accountable behind bars, where he can no longer pose a danger to women in our communities.'

The case highlights the importance of surveillance and forensic evidence in bringing offenders to justice. Authorities urge anyone who suspects similar behaviour to report it immediately.
