Chelsea shaken in EastEnders as Gray's grandma situation escalates

Chelsea Fox (Zaraah Abrahams) is enduring a harrowing time in EastEnders, grappling with her son Jordan's accident and her mother Denise's leukaemia diagnosis. Into this chaos steps Sheila, the grandmother of Jordan's serial killer father Gray Atkins (Toby-Alexander Smith), who has been attempting to send money for a while, which Chelsea previously rejected.

Libby encourages Chelsea to accept help

With Chelsea struggling emotionally and financially after Jordan's accident caused by Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt), her sister Libby Fox (Belinda Owusu) urged her to accept Sheila's support. Libby reasoned that Sheila wasn't a serial killer like Gray and reached out to her without Chelsea's consent, causing friction. Eventually, Chelsea agreed to meet Sheila, leading to an awkward first encounter.

During the meeting, Sheila explained her estrangement from Gray, noting that his murders ended her law career as people avoid legal advice from the grandmother of a serial killer. She expressed a desire to support her great-grandchildren but acknowledged that Karen Taylor (Lorraine Stanley) kept Gray's other children, Mackenzie and Mia, away from her.

Sheila's manipulative nature emerges

Initially dismissive, Chelsea later reconsidered after speaking with Jordan and aunt Kim Fox (Tameka Empson). She met Sheila at a tube station, where Sheila gave her a cheque and received a photo of Jordan—which Sheila slid into her purse beside a picture of Gray, revealing her continued devotion to her murderous grandson.

Emotionally vulnerable after learning no family member was a stem-cell match for Denise, Chelsea turned to Sheila for comfort and allowed her to meet Jordan. Chelsea attempted due diligence by contacting Karen, but missed her return call and a warning that Sheila believes Gray can do no wrong.

Sheila's influence deepens

Next week, Chelsea, Libby, and Jordan encounter Sheila again, but Chelsea cuts the visit short, leaving Sheila fearful of losing access to Jordan. Undeterred, Sheila returns the next day with a wheelchair Jordan needs and hints at continued financial support. Chelsea falls deeper into Sheila's orbit, setting the stage for a gripping storyline as the manipulative grandmother tightens her grip.
