Another heatwave is set to hit London from Friday, July 3, with temperatures peaking at 32°C and not dropping below 28°C until at least Monday, July 13, according to BBC forecasters. The heatwave is projected to last 10 days, but could extend to 11 or 12 days as July 13 is the final date in the forecast.
Record-breaking June heat
This comes after last week's record-breaking 36.4°C for June, recorded at Heathrow Airport. The hottest day of the upcoming heatwave is likely to be Tuesday, July 7, with the BBC predicting 32°C. However, Jim Dales of the British Weather Services told MyLondon there is a chance Tuesday could reach 40°C.
Met Office and WX Charts forecasts
The Met Office's day-by-day forecast predicts Monday, July 6, to be 31°C, while a WX Charts map shows Tuesday in the high 20s. The Met Office forecast does not extend as far as the BBC's.
