Nicola Peltz exits Yogi's House charity after Victoria Beckham refused support
Nicola Peltz leaves Yogi's House charity over Beckham snub

Nicola Peltz has reportedly parted ways with Yogi's House, the non-profit dog rescue and rehabilitation centre she co-founded in 2022. The charity's website now lists Emma Kenney as its sole founder, with no mention of Peltz, who previously described herself as a founding partner. The 32-year-old actress has also unfollowed the foundation on social media.

Victoria Beckham's alleged snub

According to Peltz's husband, Brooklyn Beckham, the split may be linked to his mother Victoria's refusal to support the charity. In a January statement, Brooklyn claimed that his wife asked for Victoria's support to save displaced dogs during the LA fires, but was refused. He said: 'We've gone out of our way for years to show up and support... But the one time my wife asked for my mum's support to save displaced dogs during the LA fires, my mum refused.'

A GoFundMe page set up to rescue pets affected by the fires raised $59,444 (£45,029), with contributions from Brooklyn and his mother-in-law Claudia ($5,000 each) and Peltz's brother Zach ($300). Victoria, whose net worth is estimated at £227.25 million, did not donate.

Nicola Peltz's statement

A spokesperson for Peltz told the Daily Mail: 'Nicola is humbled by the work Yogi's House does to support dog welfare in California. Nicola is proud to have been a founding partner of Yogi's House, and she's currently considering other opportunities to support dog welfare in any way possible. This is her true passion in life, and she will never give up on the dogs.'

Brooklyn Beckham's family rift

Brooklyn's January statement detailed a long-standing rift with his parents, David and Victoria Beckham. He accused them of controlling narratives in the press, pressuring him to sign away rights to his name before his wedding, and disrespecting his wife. He said: 'For my entire life, my parents have controlled narratives in the press about our family... The one time my wife asked for my mum's support to save displaced dogs during the LA fires, my mum refused.'

Brooklyn also claimed his mother cancelled making Nicola's wedding dress at the last minute, and that his parents attempted to bribe him into signing a deal. He described feeling 'controlled' by his parents and said stepping away from them has brought him 'peace and relief.'

Previous controversies

Peltz faced criticism in 2024 after dyeing her white Bolognese dog pink and orange, posting a video on TikTok that was later deleted. The RSPCA condemned the practice, with Dr Samantha Gaines stating: 'Grooming is an essential part of dog ownership – but these pets should not be treated as novelty accessories... It sets a worrying precedent of how we treat animals in society.'

Earlier this year, Peltz and Brooklyn dropped a lawsuit against a dog groomer they claimed killed their chihuahua, Nala, after a routine grooming session. A lawyer for Houndspa said all parties concluded the death was not intentional, and the litigation was discontinued.
