A 45-year-old man has been taken to hospital in an unknown condition after a stabbing in the centre of Ruislip this afternoon (June 30). The incident occurred on High Street at around midday, the Metropolitan Police confirmed in a statement.
Emergency response and victim treatment
Paramedics, including a specialist team from London's Air Ambulance, treated the victim for a single stab wound and transported him to a major trauma centre by road. Officers await an update on the extent of his injuries, the force added.
A 55-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and remains in custody. Witnesses are urged to come forward to assist with ongoing enquiries.
London Ambulance Service statement
A spokesperson for the London Ambulance Service said: "We were called at 12.04pm today (30 June) to reports of a stabbing on High Street, Ruislip. We sent resources to the scene including an ambulance crew, an incident response officer and a paramedic in a fast response car. We also dispatched London’s Air Ambulance. We treated a patient for a stab wound and took them to a major trauma centre as a priority by road."
Separate knife incident in Hounslow
The daytime stabbing comes just hours after a 22-year-old man lost his life to knife crime on a busy road in Hounslow in a separate incident. The victim, who is yet to be named publicly, was stabbed at the junction of Bath Road and South West Road, Cranford, shortly before 1.50am and died at the scene.
