Police have launched an urgent public appeal to help trace a 13-year-old boy who has been missing from his north London home for nearly two weeks.
Growing Concern for Welfare
Abdul was last seen leaving his family home in the Islington area on Friday, 13 December. The Metropolitan Police confirmed he was wearing a black tracksuit and white trainers at the time. Despite what officers describe as 'extensive inquiries', there has been no contact from or sighting of the teenager since that date.
With the onset of colder winter weather, authorities have expressed heightened anxiety for his safety and wellbeing. His father issued a heartfelt statement, saying: ‘As a family, we are deeply concerned for Abdul’s safety and are asking for the public’s help in locating him.’
Potential Sightings and Police Appeal
Investigators now believe Abdul could potentially be in the Hounslow area of west London. The public, especially those in and around Hounslow, are urged to remain vigilant and to contact the authorities immediately if they see him.
Detective Chief Inspector Sarb Kaur of the Metropolitan Police made a direct appeal: ‘Abdul should be spending Christmas Day with his family, like any other 13-year-old boy. We are increasingly concerned for his welfare, particularly as temperatures drop, and want to see him home and safe.’
DCI Kaur added: ‘We believe Abdul could be in Hounslow and would urge the public to contact us immediately if they see him. Abdul, if you’re reading this, please get in touch with your family. We just want you home and safe.’
How the Public Can Help
The police have instructed anyone who sees Abdul not to approach him but to call 999 straight away, quoting the relevant missing person reference. The appeal underscores the community's role in bringing missing individuals safely home.
As the search enters its third week, the combination of time passed and falling temperatures has made this case a critical priority for the Metropolitan Police.
