These AI-generated summaries appear above traditional search results on the world's most visited website and are shown to approximately 2 billion people monthly. Experts warned that some AI Overviews for conditions like psychosis and eating disorders offered "very dangerous advice" that could lead people to avoid seeking proper medical help. These brief, plain-English summaries sacrifice the security of knowing information sources and how much to trust them, creating what she called "a very seductive swap, but not a responsible one."
