Man, 24, Stabbed to Death in Leyton; Four Arrested

A 24-year-old man has been stabbed to death on a bustling East London high street, prompting a murder investigation by the Metropolitan Police. The incident occurred in the early hours of Thursday, April 23, on Leyton High Road, near the junction with Saint George's Road. Emergency services were called at approximately 12:40 AM, but the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Four Men Arrested

Police have arrested four men in connection with the stabbing. The suspects, aged 22, 24, 25, and 24, were detained nearby and remain in custody for questioning. Authorities believe the attack stemmed from an altercation between a group of individuals on Saint George's Road, which spilled onto the main road.

Chief Superintendent Rhona Hunt, who leads policing in Waltham Forest, expressed condolences: "Our thoughts are with the victim’s loved ones – and with everyone affected by this tragic incident. We understand the concern this will cause within the community. While arrests have now been made, and we currently believe this to be an isolated incident, there remains a significant police presence in the area as our enquiries continue."

Ongoing Investigation

A forensics tent and a cordon stretching approximately 300 feet have been erected outside the Kapture cocktail bar on Leyton High Road. The road remains closed to traffic and pedestrians, with diversions in place for bus routes 58, 69, 97, and 158. Residents are advised to avoid the area.

The victim has not yet been formally identified, but his family has been informed and is being supported by specialist officers. Police are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.
