The largest US air force base in Europe is not RAF Lakenheath in Suffolk, but Ramstein in Germany. This correction applies to the article "Life next door to a US air force base" published on 18 May, page 16. However, Lakenheath does host the largest number of USAF combat-ready aircraft in Europe.
City Status Correction
Ely is a cathedral city, not a town, as previously described.
Homophone Error
In the article "Peacocks divide opinion in Italian seaside town" (16 May, p34), the word "peaking" should have been "peeking". The sentence read: "The birds … can be seen perching on rooftops and fences, or peaking out from trees."
