Farage Furious at Postman Who 'Binned' Reform Flyers

Nigel Farage has expressed outrage after a postman allegedly dumped Reform UK campaign leaflets in a bin, prompting a Royal Mail investigation.

Incident Details

A post on a private Facebook group for Royal Mail staff, called Royal Mail Chat, claimed: 'My DO had reform party’s D2D today. I dumped them all in a bin. They can sack me! Idgaf!' The group has 30,000 members, including employees, partners, and Communication Workers Union members.

Reform UK’s legal representative sent a letter of complaint to Royal Mail CEO Alistair Cochrane, noting the screenshot was circulated on or around Saturday. 'DO' stands for delivery office, and 'D2D' for door-to-door unaddressed advertising mail.

Reaction from Nigel Farage

Party leader Nigel Farage said on X: 'It is right that @RoyalMail has launched a full investigation into this allegation. If found to be true, it would be very disturbing and an attack on the democratic process itself.'

Royal Mail’s Response

Royal Mail stated: 'We play a crucial role in elections. We take our responsibility very seriously and do not tolerate the deliberate non-delivery of mail. We are investigating this allegation and remain committed to impartial delivery for all candidates.'

Reform UK’s Demands

Reform UK demanded an immediate internal investigation within three days of its letter, a full written explanation, and details of compensation for the 'loss and disruption.' The party also seeks confirmation of disciplinary action against any employee involved.

The legal representative said: 'This admission provides clear prima facie evidence of the deliberate destruction or non-delivery of Reform UK’s door-to-door campaign materials. Such conduct constitutes a wilful breach of Royal Mail’s obligations and undermines the democratic process.'
