Brooklyn Beckham is reportedly 'tired' of the ongoing family feud following Victoria Beckham's recent comments about 'protecting' her children. The Beckham matriarch spoke publicly for the first time since her eldest son's critical remarks in January, addressing what she described as a 'challenging' year during an appearance on the Today show.
Victoria's First Comments on the Fallout
Last week, Victoria, 52, opened up about the family rift, which began when Brooklyn posted a scathing takedown of his parents in January. In her interview on the Today show, host Jenna Bush Hager asked how she gets through tough times, noting Victoria had a 'pretty public challenging year.' Victoria replied, 'You know, myself and David, we're so close and we have incredible people around us. We're close to my parents and David's parents. We support each other through everything that we do. We love our children so much and have always really focused on protecting our children. But we laugh a lot. David Beckham is really, super funny.'
Victoria did not directly address any of Brooklyn's claims, even refusing to name him in her first interview with the Wall Street Journal. She said, 'I think that we've always—we love our children so much. We've always tried to be the best parents that we can be.'
Brooklyn's Desire to Move On
According to a source close to the family, Brooklyn, 27, simply wants to 'move on' and wishes the feud would stop being constantly brought up. 'Brooklyn is aware that everyone wants to know more about the family feud, but he's tired of it being brought up,' the insider shared. 'While Victoria hasn't gone into detail about everything going on, he's keen to move on from it all and focus on his life with Nicola.'
The Spice Girl had remained silent about the drama for months after becoming the focal point of criticism. Brooklyn had previously claimed that his mother 'hijacked' his and Nicola Peltz's first dance at their 2022 wedding, dancing 'very inappropriately on me in front of everyone.' He also alleged that Posh 'cancelled making Nicola's dress in the eleventh hour, despite how excited she was to wear her design.' Nicola ultimately wore a custom Valentino Haute Couture gown for the ceremony.
Family Dynamics and Distance
It appears that Romeo, 23, Cruz, 21, and Harper, 14, have also distanced themselves from their older brother, occasionally making jibes at his expense. Brooklyn now lives in the United States with Nicola and has reportedly requested to be left alone, with no contact from David or Victoria.
A Loving Anniversary Tribute
Despite the family tensions, Brooklyn recently marked his fourth wedding anniversary with an emotional note on a white bouquet of flowers. The note, shared on his Instagram Story, read: 'Happy 4 year anniversary, baby. I love you with all my heart. We have been through so much together but today we are stronger than ever and you are my best friend. I can't wait to grow old together with you. Love you so much x.'
Nicola has also expressed mutual feelings, claiming her own parents, Nelson and Claudia Heffner Peltz, have welcomed Brooklyn into the family as one of their own.
