Bungee instructors filmed body bag stunt before death

One of the bungee jump instructors accused of throwing a model to her death filmed a disturbing 'body bag' stunt at the same location. Luis Felipe Feliciano Egoroff, 32, captured a video of himself and another man tossing a body bag off the bridge where Maria Eduarda Rodrigues de Freitas, 21, was killed last week.

Prophetic Post

The post from 2022 was captioned 'hiding the body', and Instagram users quickly noted how eerily 'prophetic' it seemed. Other photos and videos of Egoroff performing stunts with young children have emerged since his arrest.

Alleged Negligence

Bungee workers Egoroff, Maicon Fernandes Cintra, 42, and Vitor de Freitas Goncalves, 27, allegedly failed to clip on 21-year-old model Maria's safety rope. Videos show her being carried horizontally by her arms and legs in a 'Superman' pose at the top of Ponte do Esqueleto, an abandoned railway bridge.

Footage showed the moment instructors looked down over the bridge after she was thrown off, with the camera panning to show the safety line still lying on the platform. Staff members appeared unaware that she was not connected to the main rope.

Rescue Attempt

A nurse who tried to save her said she was initially alive when she reached her. Rayza Dias stated, 'I scraped my whole hand because there’s a steep slope down there and only one rope for us to climb down.' Rodrigues de Freitas had a weak pulse and was breathing heavily by the time Dias reached her. She died shortly afterwards and was buried in São Paulo on Sunday.

Victim's Excitement

Ms. Rodrigues de Freitas had been excited about her trip beforehand, which involved doing a bungee jump. She posted a picture of the rope operator Entre Cordas’s banner with the caption 'Who was the crazy person who let me jump off a bridge?'

The mother of Ms. Rodrigues de Freitas said at her funeral on Sunday: 'That damned rope took you away from me forever. My beloved daughter, you are gone, and all that remains here is pain and longing. I will love you forever.'
